Interior Watts when he was station at the Rock Creek stables. As he entered
private ownership in VA he became a pleasure horse and was soon paired up with

horse for 4H and a trail horse. For the last 10 years up until present he was an
active US CAVALRY mount that fought many Civil War reenactment battles, road in
many parades and history demonstrations to school children. Fred will be
remembered by his loving caretakers and confident riders who knew he could be
trusted his easy going manner and dependable spirit.

"...with grief akin to that which is felt at the loss of a dear human friend, I have performed the last rite of honor to the dead.  The Indian may love his faithful dog, but his attachments cannot surpass the cavalryman's for his horse.  They have learned to love one another in the most trying vicissitudes of life, and the animal manifests affection and confidence quite as evidently as a human being could."  1 March 1863, Captain Willard Glazier, on the passing of his mount,  Three Years in the Federal Cavalry, NY, 1873
