Ray E. Matthews
21 November 1934 - 19 January 2010

The 2nd US, Company A, mourns the passing of our beloved friend, Ray Matthews, January 19th, 2010. Even in suffering, Ray was such a class example of a man. He was still a teacher, and a mentor, on many matters in life, but especially on how to conduct oneself. Lou Gehrigs Disease cut short his life with us, but he always exhibited a fearless determination, even in the face of hopelessness.
Death has paid a visit to the Dragoons of
the 2nd US Cavalry, but we can rejoice in knowing that Sgt Ray Matthews had his
faith priorities in order and he is not suffering anymore!

This page is created with loving memory of all who had a
significant impact on the 2nd US Cavalry Co A/9th Virginian Cavalry Co D and
have moved on to better pastures. Friend or Equine, in the cavalry, they are the
same. So with great respect, the following is a few of those special
friends that have made this hobby all the more blessed.
